In the ever-evolving landscape of creative professions, I've grown to appreciate the pivotal role that labels play in shaping our identities and career trajectories. As professionals, we often define ourselves by titles that encapsulate our skills. However, as the field of design constantly transforms, I find myself contemplating who I truly am and aspire to become. The term 'Graphic Designer' no longer suffices to capture the complexity, specialization, and ongoing evolution of modern design. My work now defies such confines.
With a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design from ECAL and a Master's Degree in Type Design, my journey spans Graphic Design, music, and more. Based in Lausanne, Switzerland, I'm also an assistant teacher in the Master Photography program at ECAL, bridging design and photography. What excites me most is the myriad outcomes a project can yield, from print to digital, and the collaborative exchanges with fellow creatives. Design's multidisciplinary essence continues to drive me, reminding me that creativity thrives beyond specialization. Labels like 'Multidisciplinary,' 'Interdisciplinary,' and 'Transdisciplinary' better capture the essence of my work, transcending traditional boundaries and echoing a time when creative practitioners embraced a multitude of talents.
